We provide grants through our three charity funds to families, individuals, educational settings and organisations in Ealing, with an emphasis on the Hanwell area.
Unfortunately we can not cover Acton or Southall
Through the Eleemosynary Charity we provide grants to two distinct types of beneficiaries within Hanwell:

-

For more information on the grants we provide for these beneficiaries see the relevant section below.

What grants are applicable
The grants that we offer to Families & Individuals are:
-
The Eleemosynary Charity of William Hobbayne
-
The Ealing Aid In Sickness Trust
You can find details on these grants in the relevant section above.
Who can apply
Applications for families & individuals must be made by a sponsor, not by the person who will receive the grant. Sponsors should typically be (but need not necessarily be limited to) people such as:
-
Social services officers
-
Ministers of religion
-
School teachers/administrators
-
Medical Practitioners or NHS professionals
-
Registered Charity Officers
-
Or similar.
These grants are meant to help those in need, hardship or distress. Sponsors must give us information to show why the grant is necessary. We need to have an application form in (almost) all cases. Without the right information the Trustees will not be able to meet the request.
Grants to families & individuals are always paid through the sponsor, or directly to the supplier of goods, never direct to the beneficiary. Beneficiaries should live in Hanwell, W7. We will rarely make grants for people who live outside this area.
How to apply
-
An application form should be filled out by your sponsor. The form can be found in the Information for Sponsors tab.
-
Please ensure all the information has been entered and you and your sponsor have signed the form. If your application is to help a child they will have to sign the application form if they are 13 years or older. Please ensure you sign the GDPR Declaration.
-
Your sponsor MUST let us have your application 7 working days in advance of the meeting of Trustees, otherwise the grant application will be held at the following months meeting.
What happens next
-
We will let you know that we have received the application.
-
We will assess the application and may contact your sponsor if we need more information.
-
We try to deal with all applications in a timely manor, however it may take up to six weeks for you to receive your outcome.
-
Our Duty Trustees review any urgent applications, on a case-by-case basis, usually within five working days.
-
Non urgent applications will be discussed at the monthly Trustees meeting and a decision will be made whether to approve the grant.
-
Your sponsor will be notified of the Trustees decision. We aim to do this within five working days after a decision has been made.
-
We will then arrange to deliver goods or vouchers or make payment to your sponsor.
PLEASE NOTE THAT NOT ALL GRANTS WILL BE SUCCESSFUL
The charity cannot give grants for debts.
Other ways to find help
We network with organisations to help improve the community of Hanwell. Through our work with other groups, we can also signpost applicants to more appropriate organisations, ensuring the best possible support is given, particularly where we don’t feel that the applicant qualifies for our help.
