Katherine Buchan Meadow is an award-winning urban wildflower meadow on the corner of Green Lane and Du Burstow Terrace in Hanwell London W7.
The meadow was rundown and an under utilised green space. A number of years ago the newly incorporated Katherine Buchan Meadow Trust, raised funds, via the Mayor of London’s Transform Your Space grant, to create a natural meadow with seating, a tranquil walkway and a space for residents to enjoy quiet time or a place for parents to sit while waiting to pick up their children from St Mark’s School. It has developed into a much-loved local community asset.
The Charity was delighted to provide initial and seed funding to replace the walkway posts allowing the team to apply for match funding through various grants. The team replaced the posts with the help of local volunteers, and we hope the community enjoys the space for many more years to come.
