Organisations

We make many grants to organisations in Hanwell or to those directly supporting Hanwell residents.  We do not support grants for staff or running costs. The organisation must benefit Hanwell residents. Applications from national organisations are (almost) never considered.

 

A small selection of recipients have included:

  • Empowering Action & Social Esteem (EASE),

  • The BeFriending Service,

  • Ealing Centre for Independant Living (ECIL),

  • Brentford Football in the Community,

  • St Thomas’ Church Hanwell,

  • Ealing Women’s Refuge,

  • Dementia Concern Ealing,

  • Home Start,

  • St Mungo's Homeless Shelter,

  • The Youth Engagement Programme,

  • North Hanwell Baptist Church,

  • Ealing Foodbank,

  • Ealing Association for the Blind,

  • Hanwell Neighbourly Care,

  • Ealing Sheltered Housing Scheme, and

  • The Log Cabin.

 

How to Apply

The organisation should complete the online application form. If you wish to fill in a hard copy please  e-mail grants@williamhobbaynecharity.co.uk and we will send you one. You must then return it by secure e-mail or post it to;

  • Applications from organisations must be made by an authorised official of the organisation applying. 

  • Adequate information is a necessity, you must complete the application form fully and attach additional information where applicable.

  • If the organisation is not located in Hanwell, you must show how the benefit would be made available to residents of Hanwell and how many people would likely benefit.

  • We MUST receive applications seven working days before our monthly meeting otherwise the Grant application will be held until the following month.

What Happens Next

  • Once we receive a grant application we will assess it.

  • The trustees meet on the second Monday of the month.  At this point they will decide whether to make the grant.

  • We will let you know whether the application has been successful within five working days of the meeting.

  • Payment will then be arranged.
